Soto Daging

Soto is a kind soup with herbs spices typical of Indonesia. Some of the famous soto are Soto Ayam, Soto Aceh, Soto Bandung, Soto Babat, Soto Betawi, Soto Daging, Soto Kudus, Soto Lamongan, Soto Madura. Because rain season, I decided to make Soto Daging today. Soto is perfect serve in the winter. Serve hot, put squash lime, sprinkle with slice fried shallot and add sambal cabe rawit. Hhmmmm so delicious...











Ingredients :
250 gram top side beef, cut into cube
250 gram potato, cut into small cube, fry
100 gram cabbage, thinly sliced, soak with hot water then strain
100 gram vermicelli, soak with hot water then strain
1 tomato, diced
1 lemon grass, punch
3 lime leaves

Spices to grind :
4 shallots
2 garlics
2 cm ginger
2 cm tumeric / half spoon tumeric powder
1 tsp salt
half spoon white pepper
combine all ingredients together, grind with mortar and pestle, or use food processor.

Compliments :
1 stalk Spring onion, chopped
1 stalk Celery, chopped
Lime slices

Sambal Cabe Rawit :
Boil 10 red chili padi, strain then grind with mortar and pestle or food processor. add salt to taste

How to make soto daging :
saute spices paste, lemon grass and lime leaves until fragrant.
add beef,1 liter water and salt to taste. let it boil
Serving :
In a bowl arrange vermicelli, cabbage, potatoes, tomatoes then pour beef and stock.
sprinkle with spring onion, celery and fried shallot. add some lime juice
enjoy with sambal cabe rawit ( if you like spicy )
for 2 - 3 portions

Spicy Fried Potatoes




Again.. I'm posting about spicy food. This one is potatoes, in Indonesia we called Sambal goreng kentang. If you add beef liver so we called Sambal goreng hati. Usually as side dish for rice, yellow rice, and coconut rice. For spicy food lovers, must try it.. you will like it... more spicy it's better.. Suitable for lunch and dinner.
Very easy to make...








Ingredients:                                                                 How to cook:
250gram Potatoes, dice                                           1. Deep fry potatoes until golden brown, set aside
250gram  Beef liver, dice (I skip)                              2. Combine all chilis and garlic in food proccesor
5 Red bird eye chilli                                                 3. Heat the pan, put 1 tbsp of oil, fry shallot until
3 Long red chilli                                                           -light golden, add chili n garlic puree also galangal
1 Big red chilli, thinly slice for garnish                             -and lime leaves. saute until fragrant.
4 Shallots, thinly slice                                                                4. Add coconut milk, cook until boiling
2 Garlic                                                                    5. Add potatoes, salt to taste, mix it and garnish with                                                            
2 Lime leaves                                                             - slice chillis
1 Lemon grass, punch                                                     6. When the color changed, potatoes ready to serve                                                  
1 cup coconut milk
Salt to taste
Oil for frying

Spicy Red Chili Beef


I like spicy so much. I feel something is missing without chili. Eating spicy food makes my appetite increases. Chili also contain high vitamin C. But be careful don't eat to much chili, it's not good for your stomach.In Indonesia, Padang cuisine (West Sumatra) is famous for spiciness. Today I wanna share spicy red chili beef or Empal pedas, on this picture I use thin slices beef.
Ingredients:
500 gram beef, thinly slices
1 tea spoon of coriander powder
2 bay leaves
2 cm galangal
Salt to taste
2 tbsp Oil for frying

Seasoning :
8 red birds eye chili
5 red cayenne pepper
8 shallots
3 garlics
1 tsp tamarind
half tsp shrimp paste
half tsp sugar
Salt to taste
combine all then process in food proccesor or grind with mortar and pestle.

How to cook : 
Mix beef with coriander powder, salt and cup of water. Cook until the beef is tender and water finish.
Fry seasoning paste then put beef, galangal, and bay leaves then add one glass of water. Cook until the water finish and oil come out.
Serve with hot rice

Fenugreek is a spice with a slightly bitter and tangy flavor. Widely used in cooking as it adds a distinctive flavour to food, commonly used if we want to cook food such as curries (Indian cuisine). Fenugreek are rich in vitamins and minerals. This herb has many benefits. Some of benefits is to help overcome kidney, hernis, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, atherosclerosis, stomach upset, baldness, gout, costipation, and lowering blood sugar in people with diabetes. In women, fenugreek furifies menstrual blood and for breast feeding women can promote the flow of milk.
The seed rich in galactomannan polysaccharide, which is usually used to make ice cream doesn't melt quickly.
Fenugreek known as klabet or hilba in Indonesia, uluhal in Sri lanka, methi in India, mentya in Canada and greek hay in English.

Gambooge / goraka


Gambooge is fruit a native fruit plants of Soutern Asia.
also known goraka (sinhala) has a sour taste. Shape and taste almost similar to tamarind. Goraka is dried rind of the fruit. Especially for fish curry, goraka makes the fish become tight and also gives nice flavour to some vegetables curry. The main ingredient for ambul tiyal (srilankan dish) which will make the color black and sourness. Creating truly rich flavour. Available in Sri lankan or Indian groccery stores. In traditional Indian medicine, this fruit able to treat edema, delayed mentruasion, constipation, rheumatism, bowel complaints, and used to control obesity. Using goraka in cooking allowed a dish to be stored and eaten later.

Srilankan Cutlets

Cutlets is appetizer made from potatoes mix with fish, meat or chicken and spices. This is one of Srilankan appetizer. Good as side dish for lunch or dinner time.Today I made from fish ( jack mackerel sardin ), and tomato sauce as dipping.
INGREDIENTS for 30 pieces :

  • 1 Can of sarden or any other boiled fish (can be replace with minced beef or chicken)
  • 500 gram boiled potatoes
  • 1  Red onion / bombay finely chopped
  • 2 Green chillies finely chopped
  • 1 Teaspoon chopped fennel
  • 1 Tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 Egg yolk
  • 1 Egg, beaten
  • Half teaspoon powdered cloves
  • Half teaspoon powdered cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Curry leaves
  • Bread crumbs (I dont have breadcrumbs this time so I replace with flour)
  • Oil for frying
DIRECTIONS:
  • Drain the water from the fish can. Free the fish  from all skin and bone and break to small pieces.
  • Mashed all potatoes. Mix with the fish.
  • Add onion, green chillies, fennel,cloves, cinnamon, lime juice, salt, pepper, egg yolk and curry leaves.
  • Then shape the mixture about 1 inch diameter ( small ball )
  • Soak in beaten egg and then coat with bread crumbs
  • Fry till golden brown.

Indonesian Vegetable salad with peanut sauce (gado-gado)


Hii today I wanna share Indonesian mix vegetables with peanut sauce recipe.. Indonesian people called Gado-gado. Consisting of long green bean, cabbage, bean sprout, potatoes, cucumber and can be added spinach, tempe, tofu, boiled eggs. Top with peanut sauce and prawn cracker as compliment. Gado-gado can be for appetizer or main course. If you choose this as main course then put rice or lontong as side dish. Lontong made of steamed rice and wrapped in banana leaf. Gado-gado contains high nutrients and vitamins.
INGREDIENTS:

  • Long green bean, cut into 4 cm long
  • Cabbage, shredded
  • Bean sprout
  • Potatoes
Steam all ingredients
COMPLIMENT :

  • Fresh cucumber slices
  • Boiled egg, cut into 2 pieces
  • Fried tofu
  • Fried tempe (soya bean cake)
  • Rice or lontong ( lontong cut into 2 cm thick )
  • Prawn cracker
  • Fried shallot
PEANUT SAUCE :

  • 200 gram fried peanuts
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 5 red bird eyes chilli (you can avoid, if you dont like spicy)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp tamarind water
  • 1 tsp terasi (dried shrimp paste)
  • Salt to taste
HOW TO MAKE :

  • fried peanuts, garlic, chillies, and terasi. Combine all then process in food proccesor or grind with mortar and pestle.
  • add brown sugar, tamarind water and salt
  • put to the pan n add 1 cup of water, cooked until boiled.. dont forget to keep stir..
  • after 5-10 minute remove from the heat
SERVING :

  • Place long green bean, cabbage, bean sprouts, potatoes, slices lontong, slices cucumber, eggs, fried tofu and tempe to the plate. Pour the peanut sauce on top then add little bit fried shallot. garnish with prawn crackers.

Cilok

Jajanan asli bandung yg satu ini rasanya enak kenyal dan gurih ditambah saus kacang kental yg mantabbz. enaknya sih di makan panas-panas.. kalo udah dingin kenyal bgt, harus di angetin lagi.. di rebus ato di steam juga bisa.. buat yg rindu jajanan traditional, inget waktu SD sering jajan cilok... cobain resep ini yaaa...
BAHAN :

  • 250 gram Tepung tapioka
  • 100 gram Tepung terigu
  • 2 siung bawang putih ( parut )
  • 1 sdt Lada putih bubuk
  • Daun Bawang seledri ( iris-iris, banyak lebih enak )
  • Garam (sesuai selera )
  • 1 Cangkir air panas
  • 500 ml air
Cara Membuat :

  • Campur terigu, bawang putih parut, daun bawang seledri, lada dan garam di dalam wadah.
  • Masukkan air panas sedikit demi sedikit, aduk-aduk adonan kemudian campur kan tepung tapioka.
  • Uleni sampai adonan tercampur semua.. bikin bulatan seperti bakso
  • Masak air, sebelum mendidih masukkan cilok biarkan sampai terapung.
  • Setelah terapung segera diangkat. tata di piring..
BAHAN SAUCE KACANG :

  • 200 gram kacang tanah goreng ( tumbuk biarkan sedikit kasar )
  • 1 buah kentang rebus ( haluskan )
  • 2 siung bawang putih
  • 5 buah cabe rawit merah
  • 2 sdt Gula merah
  • 1 sdt cuka
  • Garam
  • 2 sdm minyak
  • 200 ml air
Cara membuat :

  • Haluskan bawang putih dan cabe rawit, panaskan minyak kemudian tumis. setelah harum masukkkan kacang tanah, kentang dan air. Biarkan hingga mendidih.
  • Tambahkan cuka, Gula, Garam.. Aduk rata.. cicipi kalo sudah pas mati kan api..
  • Kalau suka manis bisa ditambah kecap ( aku pake bango )

Awet Muda Secara Alami

Madu banyak sekali khasiatnya salah satunya adalah untuk mencegah penuaan dini. Dengan minum madu rutin setiap hari dapat menjaga kesehatan tubuh. Ini aku posting resep untuk awet muda yg pake bahan dasar madu.. bahan-bahannya ga sulit didapat, yang penting kemauan untuk rutin minum tiap hari.. jangan males ato lupa yaaa... biar kulitnya muda, segar dan lembut....
RESEP I :
  • 4 sendok madu
  • 1 sdt kayu manis bubuk
  • 3 cangkir air
Caranya : Rebus semua bahan menjadi setengah cangkir. minum setiap hari..

RESEP II :
  • Kentang
  • Wortel
  • Mentimun
  • Apel
  • 1 sdm Madu
Caranya : Kupas semua kulit bahan-bahan, cuci kemudian blender tambahkan Madu..minum secara rutin..

Madu, kentang, wortel, mentimun dan apel mengandung vitamin C yg bagus untuk kulit dan mampu menangkal radikal bebas.

Black Pepper Beef (Sapi Lada Hitam)

Hari ini lagi pengen makan sapi lada hitam. ini baru pertama kali masak sapi lada hitam dan hasilnya cukup memuaskan. mirip-mirip kaya di resto.. he he he... baru mateng langsung di foto deh tapi cuacanya agak-agak mendung gitu.. abis itu langsung di makan sebagian, eh pas makannya udah mau selesai, langitnya berubah jadi terang benderang.. sebelll.. padahal cahaya matahari yang natural bagus untuk food photography.. dagingnya udah sebagian dimakan jadi ga bisa untuk foto lagi.. langsung aja yaa resepnya....


BAHAN :
Daging has dalam 300 gram, potong panjang
Paprika hijau seperempat, potong panjang
Paprika Merah seperempat, potong panjang
Bawang bombay setengah, potong panjang
Air 150 ml


BUMBU :
Bawang putih 6 siung, memarkan
Lada hitam 1 sdt, uleg kasar
Saus tiram 2 sdm
Kecap manis 5 sdm
Garam sesuai selera
Gula pasir 1 sdt


CARA MEMBUAT :

  1. Tumis bawang putih hingga harum, masukkan daging, aduk rata.
  2. Masukkan bumbu dan tambahkan air, masak sampai daging matang.
  3. Masukkan paprika dan bawang bombay, aduk rata. angkat.

More Bad Weather in 2012

I took this picture yesterday afternoon.. You can see skies so cloudy and on the right side might  be raining very heavy. For residents in Jakarta please keep the environment clean, dispose of waste in place, work together to clean the environment and start planting trees to avoid flooding. This year the weather is worse than last year.

Resep Mie Ayam Bakso

Siapa sih yang ga suka mie ayam? pasti banyak yang suka .. Dulu sih setiap aku pengen makan mie ayam ah gampang tinggal beli aja, kebetulan rumah deket pasar n banyak juga abang- abang gerobak yg lewat. Tapi itu duluuu sekarang mendingan bikin sendiri deh.. Buat penggemar mie ayam dari pada jajan terus di pinggir jalan mendingan bikin sendiri di rumah. enak, bersih dan sehat... cara bikinnya gampang banget... kalo udah jadi ditanggung double puasnya... buruan beli bahan-bahan dan langsung praktekin .. resepnya ga usah pake penyedap udah gurih n sedap......

Bahan :
Mie keriting telor / mie ayam ( aku pake sumber sari )
Setengah ekor ayam ( daging untuk tumisan, kulit dan lemaknya untuk membuat minyak ayam )
Daun sawi / saicim, potong potong
Bakso sapi siap pakai ( jumlah sesuai selera )
2 btg daun bawang, iris
3 sdm kecap asin
1 sdt merica / lada bubuk
500 ml air kaldu ( dari rebusan ayam )

Bahan minyak ayam :
kulit dan lemak ayam
100 gr minyak goreng
3 siung bawang putih halus kan
2 siung bawang putih rajang / iris

Bahan tumisan ayam :
setengah ekor ayam
5 siung bawang merah, iris
4 siung bawang putih iris
2 cm kunyit, iris
3 cm lengkuas, geprek
1 btng serei
2 lbr daun salam
1 sdm minyak wijen
1 sdm kecap asin
2 sdm kecap manis
1 sdt garam
1 sdt gula pasir
1 sdt merica bubuk
200 ml air / air kaldu

Cara Membuat 
Minyak ayam :
Campur kulit ayam dengan bawang putih halus dan bawang putih iris. diamkan 10 menit. Panas kan minyak, goreng kulit yg telah dibumbui hingga kering. kemudian  sisihkan semua kulit dr minyak (kulit untuk campuran tumisan )
Tumisan Ayam :
Rebus ayam hingga matang, sisihkan kuahnya, ayam potong dadu. panaskan minyak, tumis bumbu iris hingga harum tambahkan lengkuas, serei dan daun salam. tuang air tambah kan garam, gula, merica, kecap asin, kecap manis dan minyak wijen. Masukkan ayam masak hingga kering.
Kuah :
rebus kaldu ayam hingga mendidih, beri garam sesuai selera. masukkan bakso sapi. masak hingga bakso mengapung dan masukkan sawi di rebus sebentar.
Penyajian :
Rebus mie dengan 6 sdm minyak ayam hingga matang , tempat kan mie dalam mangkuk. beri 1 sdm minyak ayam, sawi, tumisan ayam dan bakso. Taburi dengan daun bawang iris. sajikan kuah secara terpisah. sebagai pelengkap aku pakai saus cabe cap ibu jari ( jempol ).

Tips to photograph fire works




Although New Year's Eve has passed but I want to give you tips to photographing fire works.
what are you and camera need to do? 
  • Use tripod (required)
  • Use cable release (your eyes will be free to watch the sky)
  • If you don't have cable release, use the camera timer
  • Use the highest photo quality, size and resolution (you can crop later)
  • Aperture f/16 - Shutter speed 2 second
  • Aperture f/18 - Shutter speed 1.25 second
  • ISO 100
  • Turn off the built-in flash
  • Switch Auto focus to Manual
  • Frame a part of the sky where you anticipate the fire works to burst
  • Press the shutter when the fire works starts up
  • Verify your memory cards are empty
  • Charge your batteries
  • Find a good location
  • Take photograph as much as possible

cinnamon cake

resep cinnamon cake ini aku dapat dari buku resepnya NCC 60 resep cake and cookies anti gagal..
bahan dan cara membuatnya mudah. cocok untuk cemilan kalo lagi pengen yg manis manis...

BAHAN :
120 gram mentega
setengah sdt vanili ekstrak / bubuk
250 gram gula pasir
2     butir telur
200 gram tepung terigu protein sedang
1     sdt baking powder
150 ml susu cair

PELENGKAP :
gula bubuk dan kayu manis bubuk secukupnya.

CARA MEMBUAT :

  1. panaskan oven 180 derajat celcius
  2. kocok mentega, gula, dan vanili hingga mengembang dan pucat. masukkan telur, kocok lagi hingga tercampur rata dan mengembang.
  3. masukkan tepung terigu, baking powder dan susu secara bergantian, sambil diaduk hingga rata
  4. tuang ke dalam loyang persegi 22 cm, tinggi 3 - 4 cm, yang telah diolesi margarin dan di alasi kertas roti. panggang hingga matang, kurang lebih 30 menit.
  5. angkat, dinginkan. taburi gula bubuk dan kayu manis, potong-potong.
  6. sajikan

Sambal terasi

I like sambal terasi a lot! this is one of the most my favorite Indonesian sauce. best serve with hot rice with fried chicken or grill seafood. Dont forget fresh cucumber sliced. it would give you spicy, tasty and fresh flavour!
suitable for your lunch....


INGREDIENTS:
10 red birds eye chillies
  6   small red chillies
  3   shallots
  2   garlics
  1   tomato
  1   tsp dried shrimp paste
  1   tbsp brown sugar
  4   lime leaves
  3   tbsp oil for frying
       salt to taste


PREPARATION:

  1. fry chillies, shallots, garlics, tomato and shrimp paste until light brown
  2. remove then grind all ingredients in mortar and pestle
  3. put brown sugar and grind again
  4. fry again all ingredients with 3 tbsp of oil. put the lime leaves
  5. fry for several minute.
